Wax Additive – Ultraviolet light absorber – 165 degree melt point. (Powder) Stops discoloring from light. Add to wax using both parts A & B. This additive is a must to maintain color in the shelf life. Large batch lots use 1/10 or 45 grams per 100 pounds of wax. Small batches use 1/2 teaspoon of A & B to 10 lbs of wax.
Description
Ultraviolet light absorbers are designed to reduce the fading of candles that are displayed in natural or artificial light. Fading (photo degradation) can be caused by several factors, but almost always the addition of UV’s can extend your candle’s shelf life. Usage levels vary greatly depending on the application and process. This is a two-part system that prevents fading. Our experience shows that adding equal parts of UV-531 and UV-5411 at .001% level works very well for most colors. Pastel colors, blues and lavenders tend to fade more quickly and may require larger amounts of UV. For smaller batches use 1/2 teaspoon of each. For the Full bags of UV 531 there is a 2 week lead time after placing your order.
